OH SHIT. OH GOD. WTF. I WENT THERE. I DID THAT. AND IT CAME CLOSE TO KILLING ME.

The culmination of a year's worth of fantasizing, nine pieces of paper, a whole lot of grid-enlargement work, and a month of painstaking coloring. Yeah, I can safely say "obsession" is at work here.

Also a lot of free time.

I figure at least a little bit of this requires an explanation, and so off I go.

My original idea was to take 150 pieces of lined paper and, God forbid, try to animate the transformation scene in my head frame by frame. That lasted. . .three pages. And then I shook my head and said "to Hell with this."

Since then, however, the idea was still in my head -- and mapped out. I knew what she would do. I knew how she would do it. I knew it would take fifteen seconds, precisely. I knew where the focus would be in every single detailed second. (A lot of this is thanks to repeated watchings of Sailor Moon make-up clips, all characters included.)

But, hell, I can't animate. So what is a girl to do? Well, I DID say I was gonna try out comics. . .

And there we have it. The idea, running rampant. The style, finalized. The free time, overflowing. The resources, present and accounted for. The will? Requiring a few pushes, but there.

And then, I speak French. . .

Voila!

Dimensions of 850x9476 pixels, 12.3MB size, and an original scanning resolution so big it required two separate images to color, one of them nearly maxed out at the 50,000 pixel length limit.

During the second half of the coloring, I went "a little" overboard with the white sparklies in the background, and lacking any way of undoing it, I had no choice but to add more sparklies to the top half.

Seriously. No choice. No other method. Whatsoever.

STOP QUESTIONING ME WITH YOUR EEEEEEYYYYYEEEESSSS THOSE HORRIBLE EEEEEYYYYYEEEEESSSSS.

The animated transformation clip I made offa this includes sound. But don't get too excited. I cut the shit out of this to make individual scenes to be shown in the video and even lacked a lot of the effects I wanted. (There was no effect to pan straight down, can you believe it?) I'm fairly close to certain now that videos are not supported here. . .but I've never tried to upload a video on dA and I don't plan to.
